About Pusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Sarawak (PPKS)

Jawatan Kosong PPKSPusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Sarawak (PPKS) or Sarawak Skills Development Centre (SSDC) was established in June 1994 under the Societies Act 1966 with the objective of producing well-trained, skillful and competent workforce by offering training programmes which are practical and skills-based, and technical competence in all professional areas. To ensure its existence, it has embarked on smart partnership with existing training institutions and institutions of higher learning locally and abroad to jointly conduct training courses and programmes to enhance and upgrade the skills and competence of employees in the private sectors especially in the industrial field to increase productivity in their respective organisations.

PPKS is led by the industrial sector with the support of both the Federal and State governments. The State Government will provide the necessary infrastructure and annual grant (operational costs) for the Centre while the Federal Government will finance the purchase of training equipment (submission on annual basis). The industrial sector will be taking the leading role in managing and determining the direction of the centre, i.e. industrial driven through its representatives in the Management Council.

Objectives
The objectives of the Centre are :

  1. to establish a skills training Centre for the benefit of its members, the public sector and the industries to meet their immediate and future training related needs;
  2. to work closely with the State Government, public and private sectors in the areas of human resource and technical development to assist in the economic development of the state of Sarawak, with a view to increasing Bumiputera participation in the economy through the provision of training;
  3. to coordinate and complement with any institutions of higher learning on the provision and acquisition of skills, knowledge and consultancy services and state-of-the-art technology as may be needed by its prevailing or potential customers;
  4. to provide the training needed in the areas of technical, management and such other skills as may be required by the public and private sectors both in or outside Malaysia;
  5. to promote keen interest amongst the private and public sectors in the training of their workforce in order to improve the competency level, managerial skills and technical knowledge.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:-

  • Possessed class D driving license will be an added advantage

C) Administration Assistant cum Receptionist

Requirements:-

  • Preferably with 2-3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Diploma / Certificate in any or related field.
  • Proficiency in the application of IT to administrative systems and tasks, including demonstrated competence with word documents / spreadsheet.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia orally and in writing.
  • Pleasant personality with good interpersonal and organizational skills is essential.
  • Demonstrate integrity in handling sensitive information and ability in maintaining confidentiality of information.

The Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM) was established on the 18th of February 1992 under the Companies Act of 1965, to promote a clear understanding of Islam through various programs and activities such as seminars, workshops, consultation, training and through publications.

IKIM was launched on the 3rd of July 1992 by The Honorable Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The global scenario is constantly changing. The changes that have taken place are unprecedented. These changes are brought about among others by technological, social, economic and political developments. Consequently, the integrity of a race, Muslim or otherwise, is being tested.

Today, Muslim are found all over the world. The varied and diverse cultures and ideologies of the Muslim ummah have brought forth a challenge in forming and forging understanding of Islam as a religion and a complete code of life.

Islamic teachings are based on Holy Quran and traditions of the Prophet. They encompass a comprehensive system of life that practices openness, dynamism and tolerance.

In the light of efforts by Muslims to regain the greatness of the previous Muslim civilization, they are faced with various elements that are against the teachings of Islam. This, coupled with the disinformation propagated by the mass media, has had a negative impact on Islam and the Muslims.

The Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM) has been established to promote the real understanding of Islam in order to sanctify the true teachings of the religion without indulging in rhetorics or diverging from the correct path.

In promoting the understanding of Islam on a global scale, IKIM provides an open and free environment for everyone to voice his or her opinions in addressing pertinent issues.

Briefly, the activities of IKIM are as follows :-

  • To carry out intensive and intergrated research activities which emphasize the role of Islam and the Ummah, and how they are to face the current challenges as a result of the changing role.
  • To publish and issue newsletters, magazines, journals and books for public consumption and for specific target groups.
  • To organize conferences, forums, discussions, seminars and dialogues aimed at enriching and encouraging intellectual discourse, and to assist in seeking solutions to prevailing issues.
  • To co-operate with both local and international organizations and institutions in undertaking joint programmes for mutual benefit.

The Institute also focuses on research covering :-

About Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP)

Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) was established as a public technical university by the Malaysian government on 16 February 2002. Incorporated under the Universities and University Colleges Act 1971 by the Royal Decree of His Majesty the Yang DiPertuan Agong, Kolej Universiti Kejuruteran & Teknologi Malaysia (KUKTEM) was set up as a competency-based technical university, specializing in engineering and technology. The University College of Engineering & Technology Malaysia currently operates on a temporary campus in Gambang, Pahang. The temporary campus was formerly an industrial complex owned by MEC. The university’s permanent campus is located in Pekan, which is currently still under construction..

On 8 October, 2006, the Malaysian government has agreed to rename KUKTEM to Universiti Malaysia Pahang. The change of name is because the words ‘university college’ (Kolej Universiti) tend to give impression to the public that KUKTEM is a “lower standard” institution of higher education compared to other universities such as Universiti Malaya. Many employers also tend to think that KUKTEM graduates are not competent enough as they graduated from a university college and not a full university. Therefore, the change of name is finally granted by the Malaysian government for the sake of the graduates and also to correct the wrong mindset of the public towards the university colleges in Malaysia.

The university consists of 17 departments/units and 7 faculties (some are known as center).

About PERDANA UNIVERSITY

Perdana University is a private university established under the Private Higher Educational Institutional Act 1996 (Act 555). Perdana University was established in 2011 as a project under the Public-Private Partnership Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department (UKAS). Its establishment is in line with the Ministry of Higher Education’s (MOHE) National Higher Education Strategic Plan on the development of first-class human capital in an environment that results in individuals finding and fully achieving their personal potential. Perdana University will work towards providing world class education for all qualified students through efforts of international benchmarking and collaboration with professional bodies and industry. Perdana University offers two medical degree programmes.

The first, Perdana University Graduate School of Medicine (PUGSOM) in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, offers a four-year graduate entry programme based on a JHUSOM curriculum.

The second, PU-RCSI School of Medicine in collaboration with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), offers a five-year programme based on a conventional curriculum.

The Life Sciences Research Centre of Perdana University is affiliated with Johns Hopkins Research Centre. The centre will not only enable local students to acquire the necessary skills of research early in their career but place Malaysia in the global research community.

The 600-bed Teaching Hospital of Perdana University is affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine International. It will be the first private teaching hospital in Malaysia and will include a full complement of ambulatory care facilities, diagnostic capabilities and ancillary support services.

Plans are also underway to establish a Centre of Excellence for diseases prevalent in this region such as heart diseases, cancer, cerebrovascular diseases, diabetes and tropical diseases among others.

The present interim campus is located at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park, Serdang (MAEPS), 36 km from Kuala Lumpur city centre, and within proximity of Malaysia’s national key development areas, like Putrajaya (16 km) and Cyberjaya (12 km)

The permanent campus of Perdana University will sit on a 141-acre site, adjacent to the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS).

SENIOR LECTURER/ LECTURER – CLINICAL COMPETENCE
Selangor – Serdang

Responsibilities:

  • The principal objective of the post is to participate in the development, vertical integration, teaching, facilitation and assessment of the early patient contact and clinical competencies programme in the five year (PU-RCSI) medical curriculum.
  • Organizing and contributing to the delivery of the Practical Skills Programme in the Intermediate Cycle Clinical Competence programme
  • Maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance.
  • Preparing subject content for e-learning purposes as requested
  • Ensuring course curricula and materials are kept up-to-date

Requirements:

  • A medical doctor who has completed at least 3 years of training post internship; valid MMC and APC registration with the capacity to keep annual practicing certificate up to date
  • Knowledge, skills and attributes suited to deliver the curriculum.
  • Interest and commitment in delivering undergraduate education (including lectures, tutorials, small group teaching and other flexible methods of teaching/learning) in a diverse multicultural environment, demonstrating sensitivity and understanding of cultural challenges in doing so
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Effective communication style and interpersonal skills.
  • Team working skills and flexibility in working commitments.

  • The principal objective of the post is to participate in the teaching, and examining of the undergraduate Medical teaching programmes of Perdana University RCSI in Pathology – Mechanisms of Disease (“Discipline area”). The appointee may be required to teach at other Perdana University RCSI campuses and locations, within Malaysia and internationally.

Requirements:

  • The relevant Pathology specialist qualification, as recognized by RCSI
  • Valid MMC and APC registration
  • Evidence of ability to teach Pathology at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
  • A research track record, commensurate with experience

QUALITY MANAGER

Responsibilities:

  • The appointee will be responsible for the establishment of the formal quality function in Perdana University (PU).
  • Perdana University seeks to recruit a senior professional from an education or medical management background to lead this key strategic initiative.
  • The appointee will provide strategic management, administrative and operational support to Perdana University, the PU-RCSI Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) and to liaise with the Quality Enhancement Office (RCSI-Dublin) on an ongoing basis.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in any disciplines
  • Excellent level of verbal and written English – obligatory
  • Proven record of achievement in a similar role with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a related field
